When you create an account we store your email address and, if you share them during onboarding, your first name, birthday, pronouns, city and state, and your chosen ritual time. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email from them; we never see your passwords.
Journal entries and reflections are yours, and they stay on your device. They are saved in the app’s own storage on your phone — we never receive them, they are never uploaded to our servers, and they are never sold or shared for advertising. One consequence worth knowing: because they live only on your device, deleting the app deletes them, and they will not reappear when you sign in elsewhere.
We use your information to run the app: personalizing greetings and readings, remembering your preferences, sending sign-in codes to your email, and keeping your journal in sync. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
Mooncircle runs on trusted service providers: Supabase (accounts and data storage), Resend (sign-in and account emails), PostHog (product analytics), and Apple or Google if you choose to sign in with them. Each processes only what it needs to provide its service.
We use PostHog to see how the app is used — which screens people open and which features they use — so we can tell what is working and what is confusing. This records activity, not content: your journal entries, your reflections, and the questions you ask are never sent. If you are signed in, activity is linked to your account ID only, never your name or email.
You can delete your account any time from Account, then Profile, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and the profile details we hold — your name, birthday, pronouns, location and preferences. Your journal stays on your device and is not part of that deletion, because we never had a copy; to remove it, delete the app.
Mooncircle is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
